Mets have unsuccessfully tried to get pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez from Orioles for Ike Davis. Still talking to Brewers, Orioles, Pirates.

Ike Davis anyone? What would you give up?

well obviously that is ridiculous. But if Davis can be had there has to be some middle ground here. Davis essentially is your DH and back up first baseman.

He is young. High potential bat. Coming off a bad year, but hit 32 homers the previous year.

I would be very interested in Ike Davis if it meant giving up a bag of balls.

He could be penciled in as the platoon partner for Reimold at DH... odds are one of them will be healthy... right?

I got it!!! Trade them Nick Markakis for Ike Davis and then turn around and spend whatever it takes to sign Tanaka.
